Rebuild Support

Transforming an idea into a bespoke solution

About Rebuild Support

Rebuild Support is a Bristol-based company which bridges the gap between the needs of local businesses and school leavers. Its long-term goal is to re-energise the local economy by improving access to high quality work experience and skills development for school student’s – thus giving businesses a pipeline of suitably skilled candidates to support the region’s successful economic growth. Rebuild Support is run by careers specialists, Dave Portingale, Martyn Hall and Donna Portingale, who are all passionate about offering high quality work placements with reputable employers.

The Challenge

Rebuild Support wanted an online platform that would outshine their competition, and Director, Dave Portingale was recommended to Fallen Leaf by their IT provider.

Dave had a clear vision of what he needed – a working platform which would maximise the value for the schools and education providers with whom his company works. He wanted a platform that would:

  • Allow schools and education providers to register
  • Enable the importation of Rebuild Support’s employer into the website from their CRM system, Acello
  • Offer a simple interface where schools can search for employers who meet their students’ needs
  • Let schools submit and record work experience applications to a chosen employer
  • Notify both Rebuild Support and the employer of each work experience application
  • Allow new employers to request inclusion in the database
  • Provide a complete management console enabling Rebuild Support to manage schools, employers, access rights and permissions and website content, as well as exporting data out to other third party systems simply and efficiently.

Making It Happen

our project manager, Adam, created a technical solution that met all of Dave’s objectives. This substantial project explored the types of data involved, how it would be used, how it would flow through the website, Rebuild Support’s CRM and crucially, the quality of the schools’ user experience.

With a clear project plan in place, we worked in partnership with our client to design every element of the website, focusing on ease of use and effective, accessible layouts.

Our development teams worked tirelessly to develop the system, testing and reviewing at each stage to make certain we held true to the brief. Good planning is crucial to every coding and bespoke development task, but we are always open to flexibility if we find a better way of achieving the right outcome.

How we made a difference

the website is now in full use and sees new schools and employers registering every day. The site is proving to be a key tool for schools and demonstrates their commitment to supporting quality careers for their students.

We love working on bespoke development projects; this one was no exception. At Fallen Leaf, we see ourselves not just as a web and creative agency but as a problem solver for our clients, keen to understand their challenges and provide bespoke solutions that do exactly what they need.

The Feedback

The only way that I can describe Fallen Leaf’s performance is to say that Adam managed to interpret an idea that had been in my head for about 3 years and make it a reality. From that moment on the whole of the Fallen Leaf team have been very patient with myself and our work schedule on hand whenever we need them.
